A Sad Ending for a Robot

NASA gives up trying to move Spirit, originally a 3 month plan which went on for 6 years because the robot just kept working fine, until several days ago when it got stuck in sand. Now it's been declared a stationary station until dust covers it's solar panels and eventually powers down.
syntacticalhiccups on Reddit calls Spirit the Seymor in space exploration. If you are confused, Seymor is Fry's dog in Futurama. Seymor is most remembered in the episode titled "Jurassic Bark". Do not watch it.
